NOTD: OPI Dating a Royal + Last Friday Night

I decided to try something a little bit different with my nails this past weekend.  I recently picked up from the OPI Katy Perry Collection both glitter polishes that were released: Teenage Dream and Last Friday Night.  I tried the glitter on its own on 1 nail and decided it was a definite no no.  It needed a base colour to come through.

OPI Dating a Royal
I chose OPI Dating a Royal.  It is a gorgeous royal blue colour that looks a bit darker in a the pic below on my nails, so above is the bottle which is more true to life.

OPI Dating a Royal + Seche Vite
After I applied 3 coats of this to my nails I put a coat of Seche Vite on top which will hopefully make it easier to remove the glitter polish as I've previously applied glitter and it was a [insert sweary word] to get off!

OPI Last Friday Night
Above is a pic of the glitter in the bottle.  It looks so pretty and sparkly, far from what it looks like on any fingernail!

One glitter nail
At first I thought I would only apply to one nail, but then I thought what the hey! and went the whole hog...

OPI Dating a Royal + Last Friday Night
Sparkly, huh?  I really like this look for a change.

So here is my method:
3 coats of Dating a Royal
1 coat of Seche Vite
3 coats of glitter polish
1 coat of Seche Vite

Now all I have to do is look forward to removing this, oh the joy! ;)

NOTD: China Glaze Naked

Ok so the Paradoxal didn't last long.  The weather has picked up a bit here again and I am so ready for Spring that I changed my nails to a lighter colour.  I went with one of the bottles I picked up mid-week at Sally's.  Only my second China Glaze polish but I was so impressed with the application when I bought my first that I just had to get more.  Here is what I got:

China Glaze Naked
I originally went to Sally's to get some more colours from the new Anchors Away collection, but I only got 1 from it (not including the bottle I got the week before) and Naked is from the permanent line.

It's not what I would normally go for as it has a tiny refined shimmer running through it but with 3 coats it looks good.  I've also got my Seche Vite on top.  It just doesn't feel right unless it's on top! :)

NOTD: CHANEL Paradoxal

I decided today to whip out one of my fancy polishes, CHANEL Paradoxal.  It came out with the Fall/Winter 2010 Collection and had a lot of hype surrounding it when it was released.  I actually had to phone around several stores to track this bad boy down!

I have a few CHANEL polishes and this one is definitely my favourite by far!  This colour amazes me because it can look like so many different shades.

Looking like deep metallic purple
Now it has a grey/purple tone
I love this colour.  It's definitely worth the money for me (£16.50 for 30ml).  Pricey, yes, but the way I see it I'm getting more than 1 colour in this bottle!

I'm starting to think I have some kind of nail polish addiction *worried face*.  Today on my lunch break I popped to Sally's and picked up 2 China Glaze (they were buy one get one half off though!).  Can't wait to try them out!

I almost forgot, HELLO to my 1 and only follower! :)

NOTD: OPI Don't Mess with OPI

I decided today to switch up my nail colour.  I'm completely fed up with winter and cannot wait until summer!  So I went with something colourful...

OPI Don't Mess with OPI
This is from the Texas Collection.  I don't know what I was thinking when I bought this.  I am not usually a fan of greens.  I passed on Jade is the New Black from the Hong Kong collection last summer.

This is 3 coats with Seche Vite on top.  I went with 3 coats just to make it extra vibrant! :) I also think this colour will look much better on me in summer when I will hopefully have a bit of a tan.

NOTD: OPI You Don't Know Jacques!

Since the weather here in Scotland has turned a bit wintry again (snow in March!!) I decided to go for a nice 'cosy' colour (does that make any sense?!).  So here it is:

OPI You Don't Know Jacques!

This is 3 coats, plus my usual Seche Vite top coat.

NOTD: OPI Big Hair...Big Nails

On my latest trip to Sally's I noticed that the new colours from the Texas Collection by OPI were out.  I picked up a few bottles so here is what I'm wearing on my nails at the minute:

OPI Big Hair...Big Nails

The photo is a pretty true reflection of the colour.  It's a kind of strawberry red.  I did find this quite tricky to apply as it came out so sheer.  It took me 3 coats to get a decent colour.  I still like it though.

Stay tuned to see the others colours I purchased (including some China Glaze too!).

Post number 1: MAC Wonder Woman haul

This morning I tweeted (ha, like anyone read it!) that I was heading into 'the big smoke' aka Glasgow to anyone not living out in the sticks.

Earlier in the week I saw online that the Wonder Woman collection is now available.  I debated with myself on whether or not to purchase anything, but after I saw that some of the things were selling out rather quick I decided to jump on the bandwagon!  Although I did wait until going in-store rather than purchasing online so I could see them for myself and decide if it really was worth it.

I decided it was and picked up a few things:

Here is what I got:

Emancipation Lipglass

Check out the size of the huge applicator!  You get more than double the amount of product (10.5g for £17) than a regular lipglass (4.8g for £12.50) which is quite a good deal, but I did not expect the applicator to be so massive.  Emancipation is described as a pale neutral pink, very pretty I think.  I tried a swatch photo but my camera is absolute garbage for close-ups (Panasonic TZ8).

Spitfire and Marquise d'

Spitfire, a satin lipstick is a proper magenta colour, a bit lighter than it is in the photo.  And Marquise d' (lustre) which is a good partner for Emancipation.

Reflects Pearl Glitter

I have wanted this for some time.  Since we don't have a MAC Pro store here in Scotland I thought I was never going to get this.  It's basically a nice white/silver-ish glitter that is very fine and has a pearly sheen.  It will be so pretty over any eyeshadow, I cannot wait to use it!

I also picked up a MAC brush cleaner as I am running low.  I use the brush cleaner often for eye brushes as I practically use a different colour on my eyes everyday!

I hope you enjoyed.

Please feel free to leave me a comment :)
